Fremont County Transit / Golden Shuttle
Community transportation service based in Cañon City providing demand-response transportation in the Cañon City area. The program also provides non-emergency medical transportation services. Confidential support and advocacy are available for individuals experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, abuse, or safety concerns.

VETERANS
Veterans, service members, and their families can access local and federal resources for benefits, healthcare, crisis support, and other needs.
Eligibility for VA benefits and healthcare is determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or other applicable agencies. Contact the appropriate program directly for current eligibility and service information.
CHILDREN & FAMILIES
Families can access resources for child safety, family support, foster and kinship care, public assistance, and other needs affecting children and caregivers.

Cañon City Workforce Center
Local public workforce resource providing employment and career assistance for job seekers in the Cañon City and Fremont County area. Services may include job-search assistance, résumé and application support, career planning, and connections to workforce programs. Nonprofit legal aid organization providing civil legal assistance to eligible low-income Coloradans and other qualifying individuals. The Colorado Springs office serves Fremont County. Services depend on eligibility, the type of legal matter, and available resources.

UTILITY ASSISTANCE
Programs may be available to help eligible Colorado households with heating costs, past-due energy bills, energy emergencies, and other utility-related needs.
Colorado Low-Income Energy Assistance Program — LEAP
Colorado’s federally funded seasonal program that helps eligible households with a portion of their winter home-heating costs. The 2026–2027 LEAP season begins November 1, 2026. Applications are generally accepted during the November-through-April LEAP season.
